In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water album, Art Garfunkel shed some light onto the duo's career heights and sometimes tenuous partnership.

Garfunkel was asked if as Paul Simon's work became full of more profound imagery, he ever asked Simon to explain what the songs literally meant. Garfunkel explained, "No, our friendship doesn't work that way. My sense of an artist at work does not allow for such feedback. I give him his province. If he's the writer, he's allowed to be inscrutable without me challenging him and saying, 'I can't sing it if I don't know what I'm singing about!' Never mind that stuff. He's a first-rate writer. I give him the right to be difficult or easy or whatever."

'THE HURT LOCKER' DOMINATES THE 82ND ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS

The Hurt Locker won big Sunday night at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood, scoring Oscars in some of the night's most prestigious categories, including best director and best picture. The Iraq War drama beat out the nine other best picture-nominated films -- winning six of nine awards. The event's other leading nominated film, Avatar, scored three Oscars, including visual effects.

It was a night of firsts for some categories and nominees. Kathryn Bigelow took home best director for The Hurt Locker, marking the first time a woman has ever won an Oscar in the category. Bigelow and The Hurt Locker beat out her ex-husband James Cameron and his high-grossing flick, Avatar in several other categories, including sound mixing and sound editing. Jeff Bridges scored the best actor award for his role as a country music star in Crazy Heart. He's been nominated a total of five times, but this was his first-ever win. First time best actress nominee Sandra Bullock won for her role in The Blind Side, which meant Meryl Streep went home Oscar-less for the 16th time.

KEITH RICHARDS-JOHNNY DEPP DOCUMENTARY UNDERWAY
Johnny Depp already has five days worth of footage on Keith Richards for his upcoming documentary on the Rolling Stones guitarist, according to Inquirer.net. Depp explained, "Keith has been unbelievably generous with his time. We shot for about five days which I consider the first installment of the piece. The only reason why I'm doing it is because I wanted to capture stuff. There's no directing really."

JAMES TAYLOR AND CAROLE KING EXPAND 'TROUBADOUR REUNION TOUR'

James Taylor and Carole King have expanded their Troubadour Reunion Tour, by adding 16 additional dates -- including new stops scheduled for Santa Barbara, Oakland, and Anaheim, California; New York City, Philadelphia, Wiles-Barre, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Washington, D.C.; St. Louis and Chicago, among other cities.

FACEBOOK GROUP WANTS JOHN MELLENCAMP TO RUN FOR SENATOR

Nearly 1,700 people have joined the "Draft John Mellencamp for Senate" Facebook group, according to People.com. The sudden thrust for Mellencamp to dive into national politics comes after Indiana's Democratic Senator Evan Bayh announced that will not be seeking re-election in 2010. Opinion as to whether the left-leaning -- and at times extremely opinionated -- Mellencamp would be a good fit for politics seems to be mixed, with some online commentators saying that Mellencamp running for office would actually mean a likely victory for Republicans in the steadily growing red state.
